On December 5, the Center for Teaching and Learning & IT Service at Korea University Sejong Campus held the 'SEMO STAR K' event at the Co-Working Space in Science and Technology Building Ⅰ to share the learning achievements of the 2024 SEMO Class.
This event aimed to promote the values of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), which is the foundation of the SEMO Class, an educational innovation model at Sejong Campus. It also provided a platform to share the learning outcomes achieved through SEMO Class activities with the local community.
The event featured a special lecture and presentations from six teams that showcased their achievements through learning and sharing projects implemented during the SEMO Class. Notably, the event highlighted various contributions made by students to support their communities.
Key examples included a project jointly conducted by the Department of Electronics and Information Engineering and the Department of Sports Science to provide ‘AI-based Body Posture Correction’ programs for students at Sejong Academy of Science and Arts. Another notable project was the ‘Korean Culture Experience Project,’ conducted for children from multicultural families at Sinbong Elementary School and Sejong City Family Center. These initiatives, which applied knowledge learned in SEMO Class to benefit the local community, were recognized as exemplary cases of integrated and impactful learning.
Director Hwang Yongha of the center stated, “This SEMO Class learning achievement sharing event highlights the importance of education for a sustainable future and serves as a meaningful occasion to expand our university's educational innovation model while growing alongside the local community.”
